The Matteo Project

Kuwento (Brand Story)

It all started during the pandemic. Matthew and his siblings began selling baked goods as a hobby and a little something on the side. Matthew, a teacher who loves to draw, didn’t think much of it at first. He was doing it for fun. But the orders kept coming back, and people started asking for Spider-Man cookies. Soon enough, he found himself making customers’ favorite characters, something that’s made just for them. Turns out a cookie tastes better when someone put a little art into it!

But then life got busy, face-to-face teaching returned, and the baking paused. After all, he didn’t have time to do them all. The passion, the “itch,” however, never left. In 2026, Matthew came back to it, this time as his own. Now with a bigger menu and a bolder idea: cookies combined with pizzas and shakes, led by his unique product: paintable cookies you don’t just eat; you’re part of the process. Because the best part was never just the flavorful cookies; it was the joy of creating something, and handing it to someone with a smile.

Matteo is that smile, that source of joy, sweetness, and fun, made into a brand. It’s food you can express yourself with. Art you can eat. A little shop where kids and kids at heart get to be both hungry and creative at the same time.

The Challenge

A cookie shop that sells pizza? A pizzeria that bakes cookies? Customers had no box to put Matteo's in, and that was the problem.

Matthew already had the menu: paintable cookies as the hero products, pizza to make it a meal, and shakes to make people stay. What he needed was for it all to make sense at first glance.

Around him, everyone had picked a lane. Premium cookie brands stayed in malls or behind free-delivery minimums. Paint-your-own bakers needed lead times and an occasion. Pizza chains competed on price; artisanal pizzerias, on prestige. Matteo's had to hold its ground against all of them at once, without the premium price tag and without losing the neighbors who'd drop by on an ordinary afternoon.

So the brand had one job before anything else: turn a menu that looked scattered into a story that felt deliberate, where every order — whether sweet or savory — came with a little art on the side.
